CreateAthon is a 24-hour, work-around the clock creative blitz during which marketing, advertising and public relations firms provide nonprofit marketing services on a pro bono basis. Since the program's creation by Riggs Partners in 1998, 73 agencies in North America and Puerto Rico have participated in the CreateAthon network, holding CreateAthon events in their respective markets. It's an effort that has impacted more than 1,100 non-profit organizations, delivering 2,500 projects valued at more than $11 million.

Still have Questions?
Q: Quite a few people from my agency would like to join CreateAthon, and we would like to sign up as a group. Is it possible that we can all work together on the same team/nonprofit?
A: While we are allowing groups of people to sign up and participate from a company/agency, we unfortunately cannot guarantee that your entire group will be together on a single nonprofit. Because of the limited number of nonprofits we selected and the high volume of people who want to participate, we need to be able to guarantee that each selected nonprofit has a balance of senior/mid-level/junior design and creative representation.
This doesn't doesn't mean that a few of your workmates couldn't make it onto the same team. You are also welcome to help out other teams if needed, but we do need to designate people to a single team to get all of the projects off of the ground and running. One of the really cool things about this event is the ability to work with other local creatives you don't normally see in the office!
Q: Do we need to furnish our own equipment for the event?
A: While we are shooting for having one computer available per team, we encourage everyone to bring their laptops, iPads, or other tablets to the event to sketch and work on concepts. If you do not have a portable computer, it's okay -- but you should plan on bringing paper and/or sketchbooks so that you can work on ideas before creating them in a digital format at the event.
Q: Will there be breaks and time for rest during the 24 hours?
A: Of course – no one will be expected to work 6-6 non-stop! There will be time to take breathers. Don't forget to save some energy for the other fun activities we have planned to help keep the creative juices flowing all night long!
Q: I unfortunately do not have 24 hours of my time to give. Is there any other way I can participate?
A: We will be calling for volunteers to help setup, breakdown, and to assist in the activities throughout the evening, so if you do not have all 24 hours to give there are other fun ways to be involved! Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in helping with event logistics.close
